Ahh, this is a good way to find out which characters are most popular among we fans.
Okay, theres no surprise here. I love the character of Jacob. Ahem, I admit that more than half of the appeal is a hormonal reaction to one of the actors portraying him, but I think its more than that. As a character, Jacob is the innocent victim who becomes an adaptable survivor. He seems to be a mix of Fritz's boldness, Ernst's inquisitiveness and Sarah's courage. Unlike his family, Jacob is almost completely alone in the world - his only real friend and protector is Blunt (after Molly decides to settle in an island trading village) but jacob is strong enough of mind to keep his own self intact despite Blunt's less than healthy influence. And despite being stoic, Jacob is still a child, still vulnerable.
Thats not to say Jacob doesn't learn a thing or two about cheating in order to survive, and he does resort to violence to solve some problems, but uses his intelligence to solve them far more often. Hehe...*hops off her soapbox* Endymion.
