Okay, so I'm used to seeing miniseries spelled out as mini-series. With the hyphen in between. So whenever you spelled it without the hyphen, I pronounced it in my head as mihn-is-ehr-eez. with no break in between, so I was like, what the heck is a miniseries? So finally I looked it up in the dictionary and it said, "small television series", and I went "doh"! I laughed so hard at myself. lol.

Welcome to the board, moviefanatic!
*lol* You silly thing! But hey, I'm sure we've all been there - well, I know I have at any rate. I get the one where I can't remember how to spell a word and no matter how hard I try, I can't figure out the right spelling. Thats worse though, 'cause you can't look the word up in a dictionary if you cant spell it to begin with, can you?
I wonder, does the hyphen (or lack of same) change the word's meaning? Are there some words where the definition changes depending on where the hyphen goes...or is it just plain ol' preference.
Speaking of preference, I'm just going to slide this discussion up a ways to the general section and delete the duplicate post. Endymion.
